Chocolate Pearl Ring (Part XIX)

The latest chocolate pearl jewelry designs, Tahitian chocolate pearl rings in solid gold bands, two pearl ring designs with brown and white gems, single pearl solitaires, eccentric cocktail rings, and cheap brown freshwater pearl fashions for just $39 or $49 – that’s what offer in this delicious chocolate article…with no sugar coating.

The Newest Flavor in Pearl Jewelry – Chocolate!

Chocolate is the newest flavor in pearl jewelry, having become popular only about 10 years ago with the advent of the technology for treating black or Tahitian pearls to reflect lustrous browns instead of their natural greens or iridescent blues. There have been a few natural brown pearls in the wild, but they are so rare it’s unlikely they will be sold in any modern jewelry pieces. However, brown and chocolate pearls, unless clearly marked faux or imitation, are genuine cultured pearls, usually Tahitian and therefore are not cheap. We present both the genuine deep brown South Sea varieties and the imitation ones just to give you options. We have found that two of the best places to shop for them is Jewelbasket and Heavenly Treasures. Ross Simons also has a piece or two, as does Sea of Diamonds and a few other online jewelry shops, but they’re still a novelty, albeit a hot one!

Tahitian Brown Pearl Ring with Diamonds

We start our recommendations with a piece from Jewelbasket. It’s a brown pearl ring with a 10mm rich chocolate Tahitian pearl set in a rose gold band studded with .5 cts of diamonds. The rose gold and the brown pearl accent each other to create a warm glow. The piece with a high quality brown Tahitian pearl and genuine diamonds, it’s priced at $817.

A Chocolate Pearl Orb in Space

Jewelbasket has another brown pearl ring that’s more affordable, at just $264, and it’s also a genuine cultured pearl, just that it’s not Tahitian, it’s a freshwater variety. The 8mm gem is set in a solid 14K yellow gold ring and detailed with a teeny diamond accent. This is a very unusual freshwater pearl that is luscious chocolate color and designed gracefully with a swirl of gold over the spherical pearl, like an orb in space.

Luxurious Chocolate Engagement Rings from Heavenly Treasures

If you have decided upon a pearl engagement ring but the black Tahitians are too dark and the white South Sea pieces are too white, then why not consider a chocolate colored one. There are two from Heavenly Treasures that are luminous and high quality in delightful designs that retain a bit classic style while being uniquely brown. The first piece we suggest as an engagement ring is a chocolate pearl ring with diamonds set in a white gold band. The 12mm pearl is held in place by two sculpted tulip-shapes with .17 ct of diamonds on the side of the run down the sides of the band.

The second selection we’ve chosen from Heavenly Treasures as an ideal pearl engagement ring is one that has a 10mm chocolate pearl and .17 ctw of bezel set diamonds in a solid 18k white gold mounting. Two Very Cheap Chocolate Pearl Ring Choices

You may have seen this piece on the Home Shopping Network (HSN), and so it may not be new to you, but if you need you know where to get it online then perhaps this reminder will prove helpful. It’s a chocolate cultured freshwater pearl with .78 carats of Thai mandarin colored citrine gemstones on a triple split shank. The 9mm pearl is also from Thailand, and sits in the middle of the three slender straps that join the wide, polished rhodium-plated sterling silver band at the bottom. It comes in ring sizes from 5 to 11 an is very, very cheap at just $39.90. A fun piece of costume jewelry that’s not too fake!

overstock-brown-pearl-ring0001

The second popular piece that has received some publicity, is being sold through Overstock for just $49.99. This is a brown pearl ring that looks a lot more expensive, and in fact isn’t poor quality, for example the chocolate button pearl is a 9mm or 10mm cultured freshwater pearl, and the teeny diamonds on the band are real, and it’s set in polished sterling silver.

There’s only one catch to this piece: it can’t be resized, so choose your fit carefully and enjoy!
