2010 fashion jewelry is all about YOUR OWN style: be it feminine gemstone and pearl classic, retro rhinestone glitter or chunky tribal wood or jade, with splashes of turquoise, purple, pink and luminous blue.

The catwalks of New York, Paris, Milan and Tokyo have shimmered with elaborate, fanciful necklaces, dangling chandelier and gemstone encrusted hoop earrings; and scarcely a model or celebrity’s wrist has been photographed without a cuff or bracelet or bangle.

2010 fashion accessories accentuate femininity in 3 main ways: with a simple elegant diamond or CZ tennis bracelet, with dozens of stackable
bangles, or with contemporary (geometric or boldly architectural) chunky cuffs or ethnic inspired wood designs. The choice to be bodacious or subtle, sparkling or plain, retro or ultra modern, is yours to select, and buying has never been easier with online jewelry shops offering everything from genuine gold, diamonds and exotic gemstones, to cheap silver jewelry creations for every budget.

We have selected a few of the best shops and offer recommendations on what bangle bracelet designs are available and for what price.

Amrita Singh – Bangles Bracelets & Cuffs

Amrita jewelry designs are a unique fusion of ancient, Indiana and Mughal artistry with contemporary, clean cosmopolitan haute couture. Her bangles have not only graced the wrists of famous Bollywood actors but also Hollywood’s elite and glamorous fashion trendsetters around the world.

Her collection of chic ultra modern fashion jewelry as well as her complex pieces of Indian jewelry have graced the pages of Elle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, In Style, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Clair, and been spotted on the wrists of Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Lange and others.

Amrita Singh bangles bracelets cuffs and unique jewelry creations are sold through such exclusive stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Holt Renfrew and Takashimaya, as well as through the official Amrita Singh website and more than two hundred other jewelry boutique around the world.

Aside from the popularity of her designs stemming from the uniqueness of their colors, tones, craftsmanship and style, another factor that contributes to her immense success is the price of her jewelry.

For example a complete set of 36 bangle bracelets in your choice of three metals: gold, silver or gunmetal, in medium or large sizes to fit your writs, retails for just $70. That’s a set of bracelets that extends almost 4 inches up your wrist for under $2 each piece. These bangle bracelets are sold as a full set, not separately.

There are larger pieces sold separately, again for just $70, like the silver cuff bracelet with a delicate Aztec filigree design called the Ayau Cuff, which can be worn alone or added to with single stackable pieces to create more elaborate sterling silver bangle bracelet sets that are personalized for your individual style.

There are stacks of gold bangle bracelet designs mixed with silver ones that are adorned with sequence, rhinestones, crystal, glass, and even ivory colored bone.

The blending of the sparkling stones, the glittering bits of gold and silver and contrasting textures, sculpted motifs and intricate inlays, creates some of the most unusual bracelets you will ever own. For day or eveningwear, for fun casual or elegant events, for bridal jewelry or cocktails and black tie occasions, there’s no place these pieces are not appropriate. As accessories to your simple black dress or to create an exotic flavor beside colorful silk or chiffon ensembles, Amrita Singh designs can be eccentric or classic depending on how they are worn.

Mix and match, wood, bone, ivory, silver, gold and antique gunmetal tones and form your own fashion statements for as little as $40 a set.

Bracelet bangle designs as unique and intricate and well crafted as Amrita Singh’s collections, at prices that are so affordable, are difficult to find even at cheap jewelry outlets. And the selection is so extensive that you will be able to find something for almost any outfit even on a budget.

Contemporary Cuff Bangle Bracelet Designs

A set of three wood bangle bracelets in a modern geometric, contemporary design with a hint of tribal flair is just $100, or each piece is available to mix and match as you desire for just under $40. There are round wood bracelets or hexagonal shapes as well as square and other bold designs for around $37.

There’s a piece made from Ivory resin in a square design with rounded corners that’s 2 inches wide and has a zigzag motif, called the Manuela Bangle, or the wood hexagonal shape with carved diamond motifs that’s 1 inch wide, or the complete Baymere collection that, when stacked together, is about 3.5 inches wide.

Chic silver or gold metal contemporary designs with a modern structural style and a feminine delicacy may sound like total contradictions, but Amrita Singh has managed to pull it off with gold and silver plating over brass wire to forge a cuff bracelet that’s as bold as it is delicate. It’s called the Xilo Cuff, and is 1.75 inches wide. It adjusts to fit size 6, 7 or 8 inch wrists and costs just $60 in either silver or gold-tone.

Looking to add color to your wardrobe? For just $8, you can mix and match the colorful contemporary wood bangles from Amrita’s collections Each piece is 1.75 inches wide, so you can stack at least two. Select from this seasons popular colors: hot pink, mottled jade green, speckled maroon, Aztec orange, freckled black and marbled turquoise. There are also three different shapes, and widths from 1 inch, 1.5 inches and the widest at 1.75 inches for the most dramatic look.

These very simple wood bracelets have been seen on the runways, mixing square, round and other geometric shapes, as well as gold and silver to create a chunky focal accent for an ensemble with no other jewelry. For a spring or summer look, pair these bracelets with light strapless summer dresses, a shawl and pair of Amrita’s wedge sandals. You don’t need anything else, unless you’d like to add a hat for wearing to the beach or a garden picnic.

In winter, these bracelets can add a touch of color to a soft, fluid formal suite or palazzo pant set, or pair with a formal black dress to give it a fun accent.

Sleek Gold Bangle Bracelets

For a single or stacking set of simple elegant gold bangles bracelets, there’s the Jessina Bangle for just $25. Add as many together as you like or separate them with some silver bangle bracelets or ornate rhinestone pieces. Amrita Singh leaves the final decision up to you.

Many designers are matching silver and gold bracelets and chain and pearl necklaces in both metals and creating contrasting groups of jewelry for rich retro and antique styles that mimic the 20’s and 30’s. For under $100 you can create your own groups of necklaces and bracelets, mixing metals, faux gemstones, pearls; bangles with cubic zirconia, rhinestones or crystals to have a glamorous retro or vintage look that’s very affordable.

If you want fine gold jewelry bracelets, in genuine 18k gold, Amrita also has very high-end pieces that range from a few thousand dollars to about $14,000 for a piece like the Babur Cuff bracelet. Since they are one of a kind pieces, the Babur is already sold, however, there are many other bangle gold bracelets, from simple to ornate, that are available in pure gold designs. Naturally you can contact Armita directly to commission a piece of your own.

There are delicate solid gold bangle bracelets, beaded bangle bracelets and simple 18k gold bangle cuff bracelets for around $2,400, and more elaborate creations such as inlaid gemstone and detailed enamel bangle bracelets for upwards of $3,000.

The Amrita collections feature a blend of the rich deep yellow Indian or Asian gold in 18k and 22k, which is almost pure gold, as well as the lighter gold tones in 18k and 14k bangle bracelets that have lighter metals in their gold alloy blend. Some of her creations incorporate rubies, diamonds and enamel inlays with carved motifs both inside and outside the bracelets.

Silver Friendship Bangle Bracelets for Loving, Laughing and Living

Just one last suggestion while we’re talking about silver bracelets and bangles, and that’s a friendship style that has a word or phrase engraved. Heavenly Treasures has a selection of really cheap silver bracelets for just under $40. they call them Live, Love, Laugh Friendship Bracelets. Each bracelet bangle has a word or phrase. Select from the following: Live, Love, Laughter, Courage, Dreamer, Always Believe, Faith, Princess, Survivor, Best Friends, Peace or Eternity. Each bangle is 5mm wide, fashioned in an open cuff bracelet design, which will fit 6.5 – 7.5 inch wrists. They’re cheap and fun silver bracelets that make wonderful gifts!

Yellow, Rose & White Gold Bangle Bracelets by Heavenly Treasures

For a classic twisted style cable bracelet, Heavenly Treasures has a set which will never go out of style. Set in solid 14k gold, these bangles have 5 bezel set diamonds in your choice of rose, yellow or white gold. Mix and match the gold tones to create stackable bracelet sets, or just one simple bangle for $995. Each bangle bracelet is 4mm wide and has a secure push lock clasp, and is delivered in its very own elegant jewelry box.

Simple Yellow & White Gold Bangle Bracelet – Heavenly Treasures & Ross Simons

The easiest pieces to wear are slip on bangles, and Heavenly Treasures has delicate 14kt Italian yellow, rose or white gold stackable bangle bracelets for just $129. Start your collection with one, and add as many as you can. They’re only 1.5 mm wide each, so you can use a dozen or so. Let your friends and family know you’re collecting and mix and match until your wrists are full of gold in the tone you love the most!

Ross Simons has a set of 7 stackable silver bangle bracelets for about $130, or a set of cheap gold tone bangles – 12 for just under $34. They also have 18k Italian gold bangles for about $260, or yellow and white gold bangle twists for under $200.

Ross Simons is famous for its Estate jewelry, which includes some unique vintage bangle bracelets, which start at just over $1,000 and are solid gold and often have gemstones, filigree designs or are large cuff bracelets with intricate motifs. They also have a variety of unusual antique and vintage Chinese jade bangle bracelets with classic carved jade dragons.

For more jade bangle bracelet designs, carved from solid pieces of jade, we suggest a place aptly called Chinese Jade Bangles who have authentic solid jade creations starting at about $35 to slightly over $100.

Classic Silver Cuff Bangle Bracelets

For everyday, casual wear, at the office, shopping, out with the girls or on the town for drinks, there’s nothing better than a simple shiny cuff bangle in sterling silver to match anything from casual summer dresses and jeans and t-shirts to business suits and cocktail outfits. It’s the essential accessory to be dressed and accessorized with almost no thought! The piece that’s for sale at Heavenly Treasures is very affordable at just $89. Match with a pair of large silver hoop earrings and your ensemble is modern and stylish with no fuss.

Mens Bangle Bracelets

While mens designs are often chain, stainless steel, titanium cable bangle bracelets or the famous tungsten black bangle bracelets, there are some unique styles in cuffs for men and even two-tone and tri-colored designs that suite both distinguished gentlemen and trendy fashion aficionados. Heavenly Treasures has a good selection of simple and ornate large bangle bracelets for men. Two of the top styles are both under $100.

The first is a stainless steel bangle cuff bracelet with subtle 18k gold accents for just under $60. The second is a hinged black bangle bracelet made from steel but features genuine 18k gold accents, all for $75.

Kids Bangle Bracelets / Bangle Charm Bracelets / Engravable Bangle Bracelets

Ross Simons has a selection of high quality 14k gold baby bangle bracelets that are small and delicate with a little dangling heart for about $188. There are also bangle charm bracelet designs that are ideal for kids or young adults with small heart charms that are engravable.

Baby bracelet bangle styles are almost always simple, either just a band of gold or a simple engraved bangle bracelet with a date or name on a teeny charm. Childrens bangle bracelets on the other hand can be very ornate, including gemstones, Disney charms, cartoon characters, engravings and even diamonds. Most are solid yellow gold to avoid allergic reactions. The most popular charm bangle bracelets are the Disney designs from JewelBasket, which can be quite expensive. However, there are some silver bracelets and enamel bangle styles that are much more affordable, under $50 or $100.

Please be careful when buying children’s and baby styles since some may not be hypoallergenic if they have nickel. The cheap ones usually do. Pay a little more and get a nickel free version so your child or baby will actually be able to wear their jewelry without any ill effects. White gold is not always a good choice, the best are pure yellow gold, stainless steel and any hypoallergenic metal that is nickel free. Stay away from really cheap bangle bracelets that may have poorly attached charms that a baby or child may swallow, and remember to buy a large enough size so as not to constrict their circulation. Bangle styles are better than tight fitting bracelets since they’re usually designed so as to move feely about the child’s wrist.

Ross Simons has baby bangles with small diamonds for under $100 that have no dangles or charms, with smooth rounded edges that slip on gently without fuss.

Plastic Bangle Bracelets – Bakelite, Lucite & Acrylic

Fashion bangle bracelets in retro and vintage styles are popular once again, especially colorful acrylic designs and the original Lucite and Bakelite bangle bracelets created when synthetic materials were just starting to be used in jewelry.

Retro plastic jewelry pieces are not exactly cheap since they have become collectors items, although it is still possible to find many vintage costume bangle bracelets for under 100 dollars.

There are several vintage jewelry shops online that offer a wide selection of items; one is Vintage Jewelry Lane who have select pieces of authentic Bakelite bangle bracelets in colorful chunky styles that go well with the latest 2010 trends. For example there’s this funky orange Lucite bangle bracelet at Vintage Jewelry Lane for about $30, which could be worn alone or paired with other retro acrylic bangle bracelets or with gold or silver or even pearls to create a unique bracelet set.

Retro / Vintage Rhinestone Bangle Bracelets

Retro bangle bracelet jewelry is full of sparkle, and mostly it’s about rhinestones, like the magnificent rhinestone bangle bracelets by Joan Rivers Classics Collection that is sold through Vintage Jewelry Lane.

One piece that is outstanding is not strictly a bangle, since it is a stretch bracelet, but it mimics the bangle style and sits wide on the wrist, made in the filigree style from bronze-tone metal and studded with pink and aurora borealis rhinestones. This unique piece of classic bangles bracelet designs from bygone days is available for just under $50, and comes in the original velvet pouch and Joan Rivers jewelry box. This item has never been worn since it was part of a dealers unsold inventory. This is just one example of the unique finds available online through Vintage Jewelry Lane.

New Genuine Sweetie Bracelet Designs

Wimbledon championship edition sweetie bracelet in solid sterling silver with bright red strawberry charm for £150; buy bracelets and charms direct through The Wimbledon online shop or through Links of London, the official suppliers of jewellery for the Wimbledon championships that finalized July 4, 2010.

What’s The Bracelet Sweetie Idea all About?

It’s an ingenious idea that started about 8 years ago. Ingenious why? Because it’s not just another charm bracelet for collectors, but one that strikes us all, at any age, where we feel pleasure – our sweet tooth. What? No, it’s not about “sweethearts in love” but about sweet candy bracelets, like the ones we used to wear as kids, and the bracelets that now have candy and even Hello Kitty dangling charms and candied hearts which we give as favors at children’s parties.

You can easily see the similarities of the yummy candy bracelets and the sterling silver ones made by Links of London. They both have an elastic center onto which disks or charms can be strung. You can add dangles and beads to look like candy or create your own personalized version with hundreds of charms to select from. The sweetie bracelets and charms developed by Links of London have been imitated, but they remain the only genuine ones. Although they’re not exactly as cheap as the edible ones, they are even more tantalizing than the children’s varieties.

Oh by the way, speaking about yummy bracelets, there’s an unknown jewelry artist that makes some very delicious-looking bracelets, and although we don’t know the artist’s name, they can be viewed online at a personal website called Arts and Candies.

We mention this unknown designer because the pieces are such delightful examples of sweet jewelry, dealing with candy and chocolate, and although they aren’t edible, they look good enough to eat. The one that’s inspired by Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory is done with chain and has attached handmade charms, but the chunkier bracelet by the Arts and Candies designer is strung together similar to how the lynx of London sweetie bracelet designs are crafted – with elastic. Yes, I know we sometimes get a little sidetracked, especially when it has to do with sweet things! So let’s get back to the genuine sweetie bracelet styles that the renowned London jewelers have brought to sweet lovers.

Gold and Silver Sweetie Bracelets

The basic silver sweetie bracelet by Links of London is a series of disks (or rings) and costs about £110, and can be ordered online.

The gold sweetie bracelet designs are much more expensive. One has a zillion silver disk-like rings and just 5 gold ones as accents. The yellow disks are plated (or what is called rolled) with 18ct gold. The size of the bracelet is not really an issue because the elastic inner band stretches to fit most wrists. Other decorative charms can be added to this style. The bracelet, without extra charms, costs £210.

Getting more elaborate, the rolled gold bracelet, which is in fact solid silver with a gold outer coating, is a pricey little investment. It costs £830 without additional charms. Naturally, it’s an exquisite piece of jewelry for those who haven’t outgrown their childhood memories of sweet candy, but have more than a child’s allowance with which to buy their treats. Again, one size fits all.

There are quite a few variations of the gold sweetie bracelet, including ones with rock crystals (like rock candy) and rose gold ones for £175, and one with seven round freshwater pearls for £435.

The ones in rose gold are stunning and priced at just $195, which is a bargain considering that the yellow gold version costs over £800. There are lots of charms to add to any of the gold bracelets, including ones that dangle. Which brings us to the topic of charms for sweetie bracelets, and what styles there are and how much they cost once you already have the basic bracelet.

Links Of London Charms For Sweetie Bracelets

The basic price range for the silver sweetie bracelet charms is around £35 to £45, however there are some that are £95, and yet others that go all the way up to over £300. Some of the newest series for the Wimbledon collection, like the tennis ball charm, costs £450.

(By the way, I’m quoting GBP, but the Links of London website offers prices in USD, Canadian Dollars and Euros depending on where you’re shopping and in what currency you’ll be paying. It’s easy to see your price with just a click of a button.)

The sweetie bracelet charm that’s exclusively unique to Links is the I love You / I Links You charm that’s available for about £45.

Another original design, created specifically for the Wimbledon sweetie series is the strawberry, which oh so well captures the essence of a British summer that includes picnics with strawberries smothered in whipped cream for dessert. The strawberry charm is dripping with wet-like enamel, ultra shiny, ripe and ready to bite into. Blend with other candy or fruit designs to create a very sweet sweetie bracelet.

Here are some of our recommended charms for making a genuinely scrumptious sugar-laden bracelet:

  1. The mouthwatering cherries charm is silver and retails for £45. The red cherry is perfect for adding a hint color to an otherwise silver bracelet. It can be worn on it’s own or with a whole series of fresh fruit, red strawberries and hearts interspersed.
  2. The lollipop charms are priced the same, but they’re a fun style because they have a stick dangling down. One has a red and silver cellophane wrapping over the sweet that’s polished to a sheen. The other is a classic lollipop with a pink swirl. These are both great charms to match with the ice Lolly and ice-cream styles to create a summer, bracelet that’s all yours to (not) eat!
  3. the Ice Lolly charm has a polished green cellophane appearance with icy cool silver lines on a solid silver charm. Goes with all the sweetie bracelets and costs the same – £45.
  4. a solid silver ice cream charm is fun and stylish, but best of all sweet and delicious to look at. Mix and match with other colored styles.
  5. don’t leave home without your doughnut charm, glazed with sticky sweet sugar icing and polished to a delicious shimmer. Same price as the other charms.

What delicious fun it is to choose colored or gold / silver sweetie charm bracelet styles to make your child-like fantasies come true in adulthood. Being an adult is like being a kid, except you can stay up as late as you want, eat ice-cream and sweets before mealtime, stay up late and read without having to use a (torch) flashlight under the covers, and no one can tell you how to spend your allowance!

Stainless Steel and Sterling Silver Bangle Bracelets and Cuffs

Swarovski Intervalle Bangle – wide design $220; thin style $165; choose colors: silver, gold, blue, black and red; compare silver bangles, silver cuff bangle bracelets and stainless steel designs.

Search for a silver bangle in a shop or online and you’ll probably find rhodium, silver plated, brass and cheaply coated items and all sorts of fun faux bracelets that will jingle for a short while on your wrists and then turn into junk. When you do, at last, find real sterling silver bangle bracelet sets, they’re not very cheap and often they’re plain. It seems the fun exotic styles are cheap (like the great fashion jewelry sets for under $6 from Forever 21) which unfortunately don’t last a really long time, while the real ones are a bit dull or downright boring.

Yes, Tiffany has a zillion silver bangles, very chic, crisp and clean, like the new geometric shapes by Frank Gehry; for example the funky Torque collection where there’s a genuine silver bangle in a contemporary octagonal design for about $650.
You can also find the intricate styles by Paloma, like the Marrakesh bangle, sold through Tiffany’s, for over $1,000, and while it’s gorgeous and not at all boring, actually quite exotic, not everyone has that kind of a budget.

Between the really affordable sets from places like Forever 21, and the designer sterling silver bangle bracelet creations sold through Tiffany’s, there are fun designs by Amrita Singh sold through places like Couture Candy that retail for about $70.

Amrita Singh is in fact our favorite bangle bracelet designer (and we’ve talked about her previously in silver jewelry and bangle bracelet articles). We totally recommend her creations for anyone with a medium budget and an eye for exotic, somewhat ethnic jewelry.

But if your budget is medium, and your tastes are less ethnic, tribal, Indian or less inclined toward stacking sets, but you want something more refined, contemporary, chic, clean, yet not boring or unadorned, then the very best thing you can do is to take a look at the series of Swarovski stainless steel bangles called the Intervalle that come in silver-tone, gold-tone and also red, blue and black.

Take a look at each style and see for yourself why these stainless steel bracelets are in fact a great alternative to silver. Why choose stainless steel over silver. Because it’s tarnish free! But do sterling silver bangle bracelets still tarnish? Yes, they do. Not as much as previously before certain tarnish-resistant finishes came into being, but silver generally will tarnish if it comes into contact with any solution that contains bleach, chlorine and acids of a variety of types, even lemon juice or vinegar will turn silver black. Silver can also be damaged really easily, and when it comes to bangles, the thing is that they are in a place where banging on desks and bumping in general in taken for granted, and they do get scratched and dented really easily. Sometimes it’s just much easier to wear stainless steel and forget about all the fuss. Titanium is even better, but Swarovski doesn’t use titanium yet. Anyway, the Intervalle collection from Swarovski. Which we are featuring in this post, is an excellent buy, in terms of quality, price, design and color choices.

Even if you had your heart set on real silver bangles bracelets, the difference between stainless steel and silver, in this case, is almost none because the finish is done in such a way so as to look like silver. However, there’s no reason why not to choose a set of three smaller ones and have a little more sparkle. Mix and match colors and create your own style.

Any of the Swarovski Intervalle stainless steel cuffs are better than a cheap silver cuff bangle for several reason. First, stainless steel is strong, doesn’t dent easily and won’t tarnish, therefore it will last a long time. Second, the zillion genuine Swarovski crystals are set in a crystal mesh so they won’t be prone to getting damaged or falling out of a silver setting. Third, the second half of the bangle is covered in calfskin leather to match any of the color choices for a textured detail that still retains the sleek contemporary look. This design is great for formal or casual ensembles, because whether you’re wearing a strapless gown for a black tie event or a pair of jeans and a white blouse, this singular item will take on the casual or formal look of whatever outfit you choose. It’s one of those all purpose accessories that merits investing in. Match with the corresponding Swarovski earrings and you’re set for anything!

Sterling Silver Bangle Bracelet from Ice

Sterling silver bangles can be worn with care when dressing up, or for formal occasions, and there are some good choice that are reasonably priced, at around $150, through ICE. One is the lacey geometric mesh design that’s simple yet elegant. In fact Ice has a silver bangle set of several sizes, although sold separately, in different widths and slightly different motifs. Prices range from $150 to $250 depending on the pattern chosen and the width of the bangle or cuff.

If you’re really on a tight budget, Ice offers a payment plan to make purchasing easier.

Once again, no matter where we go to shop, the best deals are on high quality stainless steel designs, like the wide cuff that costs just $50 and is tarnish free, which means you’ get years of style instead of just a few months.

And if you think that stainless steel won’t match your other sterling silver jewelry, take a look at the color difference, really there’s very little if any.

Mens Silver Bangle Vs. Stainless Steel, Tungsten, or Titanium

If you’re about to buy a mens silver bangle or cuff, stop a minute. Please consider that men are harder on jewelry than the ladies.

A silver bangle or link bracelet will cost you about $195 (in genuine solid sterling silver) and about $175 in tungsten, titanium or stainless steel. Some items are even more affordable, but that’s not really the point. You can get the same design, or better ones, in stainless steel than in silver and they will take a considerable beating and last a lot longer than a silver one. The choice is up to you. Here are some options we recommend:

  1. For $125 a stainless steel and black carbon fiber combination bracelet with accents in 14k gold. Retails through Ice. This blend offers the best from all worlds, durability, strength and style.
  2. For $85 a Tungsten mens bracelet through Ice. Remember that titanium and tungsten are the hardest metals on the planet and will wear well; even athletes who swim, perspire while wearing their bangles or bracelets during training, continue to rave about the strength and durable nature of the masculine metals. Tarnish free, hypoallergenic, chemical and chlorine resistant…what more can you ask from a bracelet for an active man.
  3. A silver bangle for a man is not the obvious best choice, as we’ve stated. However, for a young man, who isn’t going to wear his jewelry for training, sports, swimming, showering or while fixing a car engine, then there’s an affordable and fun design that blends silver with black rubber. It’s cool, it’s sleek, it’s contemporary and it’s a mens silver bangle bracelet that costs only $85 through Ice. It’s mostly black rubber with silver accents.

Gold, Pink or White Akoya And Freshwater Pearl Bracelets

Freshwater pearl bracelet designs for $8 to $12; two-tone pink pearl bracelet styles for young ladies for under $15; unique cultured pearl drop bracelet styles with sterling silver for under $13; chocolate baroque pearls bracelet for under $50; crystal and freshwater pearl bangle bracelet or cuff designs for just under $20 – cheap pearl collections with designer flair – not your average single strands but trendy creations for all ages.

The Problem With Pearls

Although feminine and retro lady-like delicacy from the 20’s and 30’s is the newest trend in fashion and jewelry, from haute couture to bargain basement thrift styles, not every fashion aficionado is a pearl enthusiast. At least when it comes to the little pearl bracelets that are not much more than a single strand, and tend to be a conservative statement rather than trendy glamour. That’s the basic problem with pearls, be it a necklace or earrings or a bracelet. The typical styles are too classic and unadventurous.

It’s not the fault of the pearls themselves, which are in fact exciting organic gems, with color and luster and smooth surfaces from which jewelry designers should be able to get inspired to craft funky creations. And they do, often adding gemstones, diamonds and gold, and then…who can afford them?

So, the two problems with pearls are as follows:

  1. the designs being too conservative
  2. the price being too high when set with diamonds and gold

Then we discovered some pink pearl bracelets that are trendy and affordable and nothing conservative. Where?

Oriental Pearls

It’s not an original name, but that’s where you can find fun, fashionable, funky and affordable creations for ladies of all ages. Here are some of the fun finds that Oriental Pearls offers and we share with you.

Dangle Pearl and Sterling Silver Chain

1. set on a dangling silver chain bracelet are a zillion two-tone pink pearls, yes dangling somewhat like little pink charms, from the chains that are finished with a fine toggle closure. There’s a mix of small 3mm and large 7mm or 8mm pearls that make up the bracelet. Not at all boring or conservative, but certainly feminine. The pearls are genuine so they’ll ;ast with proper care. The price: just under $15. Choose other colors like white, pink or even golden (although the gold is actually a greenish tone).

Crystal Clusters and Freshwater Pearls

James Avery Charms For Bracelets

Solid sterling silver charms for charm bracelets from about $33 to $40, authentic James Avery craftsmanship; the newest designs: “joy of my heart” charm, Avery remembrance charms, with your choice of emerald, aquamarine, sapphire, amethyst, pink tourmaline, peridot, garnet or ruby gemstone for between $66 and $76; choose solid 14k gold charms for bracelets that start at around $100 (some include gemstones); choose affordable items like the “Baby-Tee” charms, which include a name and date engraved on the baby t-shirt, for just $46, and fun styles like “coffee to go” for about the same price. Find out what’s new, what’s hot, where to shop, how much to pay, and get the scoop on who James Avery is and how he began.

The Humble Beginnings of Avery Sterling Silver Charms For Bracelets

James Avery isn’t a famous haute couture designer with a line of trendy, expensive Italian charms for bracelets that only the rich and famous can afford, but rather a simple hardworking man who in 1954 began crafting charms.

He became an artists specializing in Christian jewelry charms after returning from piloting aircrafts during World War II. His desire to offer simple, almost childlike, innocent charm designs to the world, at affordable prices, began is a garage and is now a company with manufacturing facilities, although still family operated. Now with teams of designers, technicians and jewelers Avery is able to fill the demand for the delicate and finely created pieces that form the simple, meaningful collections.

James Avery Charms – Collections For Everyone

Although the religious and Christian collections by James Avery charms are some of the most extensive of any charm jewelry company, there are numerous other styles, for example: letters and numbers, camp oriented designs like canoes, paddles and tents, sorority insignias like the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority charm, or the Chi Omega or Pi Beta Phi, amongst others.

There are also teen charm collections, childrens charms, some specific for him and some for her and there are lots of engravable charms for bracelets from baby shoes and t-shirts to hearts, boxes of chocolates and even silver parchment scrolls.

What has separated the James Avery charms for charm bracelet designs from others is the integrity that began it all, everything being crafted by hand. Even now that the designs are not all forged by hand, they reflect the same good taste, making the items as easy to wear as they are to give and receive. Why? Because there is a design team that creates jewelry that expresses beliefs, lifestyles that are functional as well as highly individual and expressive. There is attention paid to the details, because charms are, after all, a sort of talisman, a symbol of an idea or belief that translates itself into a form that gives the wearer a sense of self and a feeling of protection, albeit figurative.

It’s not that the Avery silver and gold charms for bracelets are revolutionary in design. In fact it’s the opposite. They’re fresh due to their timeless nature, the innocence of their themes and the delicacy of the way in which they’re crafted. While the charms do not try to innovate, they do attempt to reflect a range of ideals, cultural concepts, reasons for wearing charms, be they religious or purely sentimental.

There’s a system, or criteria, by which all Avery charms are judged before going out into the world. That criteria is based on the founding concepts of the entire company, namely: universality, simplicity, integrity to values and symbolic meaning.

Although the Avery jewelry is “jewelry” it’s more about symbols and representations of ideals and philosophies than it is about simply adorning the body with gold or silver. Using metals as a media to transport a simple concept, Mr. James Avery, began with a desire to steer clear of cluttered or cute designs and stick with concepts and designs that were classic, clean and genuinely meaningful. Not only did he achieve that as a designer himself, but has passed that inspiration on to those who work as a team and now craft his products.

The tiny items, which are three dimensional sculptures of ideas and symbols of faith and human ideas, are available for sale online, and are affordable, easy to buy, easy to give, easy to wear.

Gold and silver charms for bracelets are perfect presents, small enough to be affordable, yet packed with symbolic meaning. For those who have just a single charm on a James Avery charm bracelet or for those who collect by the dozens, the Avery lines are truly universal, for everyone, all ages, all lifestyles. Today the clean and crisp fine jewelry designs that Avery crafts are done in solid sterling silver as well as 14K and 18K gold, both white and yellow. There are accents on some that employ a variety of gemstones. Believe it or not, there are over 1000 entirely different designs to choose from within 14,000 items in all the collections.

What makes the buying of a charm for bracelet a unique one? In part because of the selection, but mostly because the operation is a smooth one, from design to retailing. Avery does not outsource but designs, manufactures, and handles marketing and retailing all on their own.

Buying charms for bracelets is not something that should cause sleepless nights, it’s about a little bit of comfort, about giving an idea, a symbol, a small token….and that’s what’s great about Avery. No gimmicks. No hype. No online dealers offering special discounts. Just genuine charms, simple, tasteful, classic.

Continuing with Heavenly Treasures affordable jewelry collections, there’s a two tone 7 inch silver CZ bracelet made with circle links and three squares encrusted with sparkling cubic zirconia and gold accents for $79.

While on the subject of link chain bracelets, that brings to mind charm bracelets. Heavenly Treasures has a few to choose from, but one that incorporates an ID bracelet with a charm is their silver CZ bracelet with an engraved ID tag that says PEACE, and a dangling CZ encrusted charm in the shape of a peace sign. This delicate little charm bracelet costs $59.

You may add other charms for bracelets and make it into your own personalized piece, or wear it as it is with casual or trendy outfits.

Gold CZ Tennis Bracelets for Women

Gold CZ tennis bracelets; white gold bracelets; genuine gold cubic zirconia fashion jewelry; 14k and 18k gold bracelets; yellow gold tennis bracelets; cubic zirconia bridal jewelry; compare cubic zirconia costume jewelry prices to bracelets with diamonds; find out where to shop for quality CZ jewelry set in solid gold – at Jewelry & Accessories we’ve shopped the world and found the bargains you’ve been looking for.

Gold Bracelet with Diamonds vs. Gold CZ Tennis Bracelet

If you’ve had your eye on a tennis bracelet you probably already know that despite their delicacy and relatively small size, they are one of the most expenses pieces of jewelry a woman can own because they are a bracelet entirely comprised of gemstones, usually over 40 stones in an average 7 inch bracelet. Since the classic gem for a tennis bracelet is the diamond, this makes these charming little pieces of jewelry almost out of reach for the average person, and yet, all the more coveted. Let’s take a look at what some very reasonably priced diamond tennis bracelet jewelers are charging for a genuine gold bracelet with real diamonds.

The Jewelbasket has affordable jewelry and their prices are not what you might pay at a fancy jewelry shop, so the gold bracelets we will look at are on the low end of the spectrum. The first piece we show is part of their collection of diamond tennis bracelets with a total of 1.5 carats of diamonds in a 7 inch bracelet set in sold gold. This includes a full set of G grade round cut diamonds which have been prong-set all along the bracelet and finished with a secure box clasp. The discount price for this piece of diamond jewelry is about $3,400. That is an excellent price, but if you don’t have thousands of dollars in your budget or you’re not in the market to buy jewelry as an investment, no mater how good a deal this is, it’s likely not affordable.

Another piece, just to compare, is a diamond bezel bracelet with 50 diamonds set in solid 14k gold. The bracelet has 8pt diamonds evenly spaced along the 7 inches of the bracelet, and the diamond grade is G-H. It costs about $4,700.

The last piece we’ve chosen to compare is a hugs and kisses diamond tennis bracelet with 2.5 carats of G grade diamonds along the 7 inch wristlet and a secure box clasp. This diamonds bracelets costs about $5,200. Hugs and kisses jewelry is usually more expensive since two diamonds are mounted together, where in other settings, there would only be one. That is why the name “hugs and kisses”— the two diamonds are hugging and kissing, however, we’re pretty sure that whoever may give this bracelet to a lady will be guaranteed a few hugs and kisses as well.

All these pieces we’ve mentioned, are discounted items sold online and do have a showroom markup or salesperson involved, and therefore are very good deals, however 3 thousand to 5 thousand for a single bracelet is a lot of money to pay. So let’s compare similar designs in solid 14k yellow gold CZ tennis bracelets from Goldenmine and see how much we can save by selecting cubic zirconia instead of genuine diamonds.

Gold CZ Tennis Bracelet Designs & Prices by Goldenmine

The first gold CZ tennis bracelet we recommend is a solid 14k gold 7 inch piece that features gold bars with 42 dazzling cubic zirconia evenly spaced along its length and a secure gold clasp. This gorgeous, sparkling bracelet is not exactly costume jewelry like many CZ creations, but a genuine 14k gold, designer replicated bracelet that looks almost the same as the one above for over $3,000, but it costs only $465! Now that’s more like it. An affordable tennis bracelet with all the razzle-dazzle you’ve been wanting for your writs without the dazzling price. Compare the two images of the genuine diamond bracelet with the cubic zirconia version and you will see they both sparkle and look very similar. Naturally a jeweler will know the difference immediately, but it’s doubtful that anyone else will know your bracelet is not diamond just by a casual glance. The key to wearing faux or imitation diamond jewelry is to select pieces that have gemstones that are not so large or outrageous that they cannot be believed to be real diamonds. And that is why tennis bracelets are so perfect when set with CZs, the stones are almost always small enough to be believed as genuine.

Jewelry stores that cater to cubic zirconia rings and jewelry often specialize in fashion jewelry set in silver or at best gold plated bracelets, and that may satisfy the yen for a little costume sparkle, but the metal soon tarnishes or chips and you’re left with a piece of discolored or scratched or tarnished jewelry after a time. The pieces we recommend are not gold plated or silver electroplated with gold, but solid 14k gold tennis bracelets that will last. They are good enough quality to have the stones replaced at a later date with genuine diamonds, should you have a larger budget in the future. These pieces make exquisite anniversary gifts, or a great way for a lady to give herself a well deserved treat. Match any of these cubic zirconia bracelets with CZ rings and earrings and have a complete cocktail set for eveningwear. This is also a fabulous bridal jewelry piece that will accent almost any bridal gown, headpiece, ring and other accessories for the bride.

But there’s more. Goldenmine has an affordable diamond CZ tennis bracelet set in 14k gold with approximately .10 carats of stones for just $390. It’s a 7 inch bracelet, finely crafted with a secure slide latch closure so you won’t loose it even you’re playing tennis! The cubic zirconia are round cut the same as the diamonds would have been, and the yellow gold setting is highly polished to gleam with the flawless white CZ gemstones.

If you have been dreaming about jewelry bracelets with diamonds and haven’t been able to afford what you desire, we think you finally can! And with what you’ve saved by choosing cubic zirconia in your gold bracelets you can probably be able to afford the matching gold ring and CZ earrings to have jewelry sets that accent your look for casual sports, daywear or even to accessorize your little black dress for evening cocktails.

There’s yet another design we must show you because it’s a little different being a 14k gold CZ bar tennis bracelet with 42 CZ stones separated by gold bars almost identical to the genuine diamond version for $3,400. But this piece costs only $465! Give yourself a birthday present that will sparkle for years to come., and by the way, if you’re buying this jewelry as a gift, Goldenmine includes a velvet jewelry box with the purchase.

For $440 there’s another tennis bracelet design that really shines. Again it’s a CZ bracelet in solid 14kt gold with an s-shaped setting that includes .10 carats of CZ stones. Notice the details and how delicately the stones are set, and the security of the closure, as well as the luminosity of the polished yellow gold. This is fine gold jewelry at costume jewelry prices!

If you have just a little more to spend, Goldenmine has a glorious creation that really sparkles in an extended bar design in their CZ tennis bracelets collection that has .19 carats of cubic zirconia gemstones along the 7 inch bracelet length. Due to the size of the stones and the setting this makes excellent wedding jewelry. It’s a tad more expensive but still very reasonable at just over $700.

14k White Gold CZ Heart Tennis Bracelet

For a unique design that’s something between a charm bracelet and a tennis bracelet, Goldenmine has a cubic zirconia heart design that’s encrusted with CZ stones. The white gems are all prong set along the bars and hearts of this 14k white gold bracelet and finished with a slide and latch clasp at the back. Charm bracelets often have too many dangles for formal wear or bridal jewelry, but this unusual design incorporates the simplicity of a tennis bracelet with the hearts acting like little charms for bracelets. It’s also unusual because it’s solid white gold, not silver. That makes the price even more excellent at just $495.

It’s difficult to find white gold bracelet designs that are so delicate and studded with cubic zirconia because most CZ charm bracelets are silver to keep the cost very low. Many cheap jewelry manufacturers use inferior stones and silver or plated settings to offer fashion jewellery at under 100 dollars, but these pieces don’t last very long and it’s not worthwhile to replace the stones or keeping these pieces as mementos or heirlooms. For bridal jewelry, this piece is highly recommended since it will last and can be matched easily with other white gold jewelry items like earrings and other pieces of white gold CZ jewelry also available through Goldenmine.

If you really need cheap tennis bracelets, that are just fashion bracelets in really cheap costume jewellery settings for a specific event or to replace a similar white gold version of a genuine tennis bracelet for taking on vacations or for wearing casually at sports events, then we do have one suggestion. Golden mine has a collection of sterling silver CZ tennis bracelets that are very cheap, under $60. We don’t recommend them for their longevity, but we do think they’re a fun pieces of jewelry at a very affordable prices.

Another good place to find really cheap CZ tennis bracelets is Bling Jewelry. They don’t specialize in gold jewelry, but they do have lots of tennis bracelets in silver settings that are very cheap, around $40, and some are designer inspired pieces. For example they have a 14k gold vermeil tennis bracelet that’s gold plated over solid .925 sterling silver with 20 round cut diamond CZ stones on an 8 inch bracelet. This is a good choice for something to replace your gold jewellery pieces to wear at the beach or for casual daywear. Save the real gold for special events and be carefree with a bit of bling.

If you need something other than diamond or white CZ gemstones, Bling Jewelry also has emerald bracelet designs in the tennis style and ruby bracelet creations, as well as mixed rhinestone and gemstones blends with a tennis bracelet feel. Their prices are so affordable you can indulge and accessorize your wardrobe with faux gemstones color. For example their emerald cut multi color CZ tennis bracelet is discounted to cost just under $20!

Crislu CZ Tennis Bracelets

For those of you searching for the popular Crislu CZ tennis bracelets, they’re a little hard to find in 14k white or yellow gold, however if you want some inexpensive Crislu jewelry, it’s easy to order from Amazon, where they have the Crislu princess cut CZ tennis bracelets that’s set in sterling silver starting at $99 and going up to about $170. The same design in white gold bracelets will cost 2 or 3 times more, but it depends on your budget, we just offer suggestions on what’s available and leave it up to you to decide where to buy bracelets and jewelry.

Now that you know the difference in price between diamonds bracelets and CZ bracelets, we know you will be able to have that gold bracelet you have always wanted, even if the diamonds are faux.

Silver Jewelry – Silver Bracelets

If your first bracelet was a tiny red cord tied around your wrist or a charm bracelet to keep you safe from the evil eye (mal de ojo) when you were a baby, then you probably still have a charm bracelet, a set of bangle bracelets or a silver bangle on your wrist right now. Sterling silver rings and necklaces are lovely and silver earrings are a must, but the tinkle of bracelets and bangles is addictive. The dependence may not be only to the sound they make, but the sensual and mysterious way they caress skin as they shift with movements.

There’s something alluring about a woman with bracelets, or a man with a single silver bangle, perhaps because they conjure images of gods and goddesses with serpent head armlets, Egyptian queens on divans raising their jangling wrists to signal for more wine while waiting for their lovers or pharaohs – yes, very Cleopatra and Mark Anthony, but not just the Hollywood version with bejeweled Elizabeth Taylor. Bracelets are an Egyptian legacy to the world that began thousands of years before Christ – with the scarab bracelet – a sacred and pious emblem that exemplified the sun-god’s rebirth at midday, and consequently, the symbol of eternal life.

silver jewel scarab bracelet

It is the Egyptians who brought us the bracelets and jewelry and symbols copied through the ages – the Ankh, the eye of Horus, the lotus and the glorious falcon, worn on arms and wrists until today (with replicas sold at the Tutankhamun Shop and other Museum Shops).

Bracelets are also part of imperial jewelry collections of the Chinese, especially with jade, and of the Greeks with the winding shapes up the arm, and from the ancient Romans who added gemstones to similar spiraling armlets and cuff bracelets, and the Byzantine styles of interlocking link bracelets.

Today, aside from them being a fashion accessory or a statement of personal individuality, they also remain the traditional marriage jewelry for brides in India – 21 red bracelets to be precise, with long dangling karliras charms.

Sterling Silver Bangle Bracelets

The difference between a BANGLE bracelet and other kinds of wrist jewellery is that a bangle will usually be a circular piece of silver (or gold or other precious metal) that is a set measurement and has no clasp or opening. These are then slipped onto the wrist, often requiring the wearer to make their hand as small as possible for the bangle to fit over the hand. They are often worn in multiples and move freely about the wrist making a jingling, jangling or tinkling sound as they touch.

Bangles as we know them, originated in India, and to this day, the best bangles are Indian, Punjabi, Pakistani, Arabian or South East Asian. Sikh men wear a single bangle called a kada which is usually made of iron or steel, and women from the Punjab use chooda bangles for their traditional marriage ceremonies.

Bangle bracelets can be extremely ornate with jewels and gemstones or may have dangling charms and a kind of bell that tinkles, or be painted wood or plain metal. There are also porcelain bangles and bone jewelry with enamel overlays or copper incorporating handcrafted mother of pearl inlays.

Silver and gold bangles are often blended with rubies and emerald jewelry or more recently embellished with fake diamonds known as cubic zirconia. A silver bangle with white sparkling stones is not the traditional style for Hindu, Punjabi or Asian wedding jewellery (since red and gold bangle bracelets are the norm), however many innovative modern jewelry designers have adapted traditional Indian/Asian styles to create magnificent sterling silver bangles embellished with cz gemstones or even add trendy pink diamonds or use pave techniques with pink rubies or pink sapphires or rose garnets to give the entire surface a pinkish or reddish tone.

Curiously, in a reverse twist of evolution, many Indian brides are now selecting these modern pink silver bangles for their wedding instead of deep red jewels set in gold.

Wholesale Jewellery Outlets for Fabulous Indian Bangle Bracelet

There are some discount jewelry centers online where you can find really cheap jewelry and wholesale fashion jewelry items in Indian bangle styles, especially for stylish young ladies who like to wear dozens of bangles all at once.

Wholesale jewellery outlets often have retail discounts as well, such as a company called SD Fashions who have an impressive selection of fashion bangles in literally thousands (they claim to have over 5,500 different designs) of totally unique Indian bangles. Their fashion jewelry is cheap but not cheaply made. They offer wholesale prices that are affordable even for the public (although to get the discounts you must buy more than one set). They have genuine kundan bangles and authentic wedding chooras, kundan glass bangles and jhumka bangles, some for as little as $3 or $4 each. And they’re not teeny little pieces of jewelry; some are really wide with charms and delicate inlayed details. Others are more like cuff bracelets because they are so wide, but in fact they’re still called bangles.

The point is that silver bangle bracelets that are genuine, even handmade silver bracelet creations need not be expensive if you buy from the right places (or if you happen to travel to India or Asia and can pay in rupees). Cheap silver bracelets in gorgeous Indian bangle styles and handmade silver bracelets accented with beads and crystals and imitation gemstones can be ubber fun and inexpensive.

And they are NOT just for teenagers! I wear about 29 Indian bangles on my wrists and arms and let’s just say I’ve already had a few non-teen birthdays. As I write this and look at the choices that are available, and see a whole set of Lac Choora bridal bangles with mirrors and studded stone all for just $6.50, I think I’ll take a break and buy a few for myself!

Modern Silver Bracelets Bangles

Contemporary bangles are not just Indian creations any longer. Some of the best jewelry houses that exist, such as Tiffany’s, DeBeers and others top jewelry retailers also have contemporary silver jewelry designs. Here are two extraordinary bangles in totally different price ranges:

    tiffany silver bangle
  • De Beers Flexible Diamond Bangle (sterling silver bangle bracelet) for only – $70,000
  • Tiffany Somerset wide silver bangle bracelet for – $425

Now that bangles have become internationally popular there are many custom jewelry designers who make unique twists on traditional settings like the sterling silver bamboo bangle for $65 or the silver Puka Shell bangle from Seaweed Boutique. There are also some delicate original creations, like the sterling silver Torq bangle by Jing Jewellery for £50 or the Open Twist bangle for £45.

Silver Charm Bracelets

Sterling silver bracelets with dangling charms or cubic zirconia bracelets in Italian charm bracelet style are all the rage. I sometimes wonder if the difficult economic times we face is not responsible in some way for having spawned a need to once again believe in magic, to hope that a charm or amulet or talisman might bring us out of a troubled economy, or perhaps it’s a way to escape reality and live an illusion – in any case, there is a renaissance of the charm bracelet collecting. These bracelets can be anything from the magical kingdom of Disney and Mickey Mouse fantasia to a princess silver heart charm bracelet or a serious diamond or Swarovski crystal charms bracelets worth thousands of dollars.

silver charm bracelet

Charm bracelets that mimic the noble gentry styles of the Victorian era, or pieces that were popular during the Second World War, or those that became hip in ‘50’s as a means to record events in people’s lives, can now be obtained as vintage or antique jewellery charms.

There are also Venetian or Murano glass charms that will never go out of style and are copied in such new collection as the Pandora charm bracelet and the Juicy Couture bracelets. Although, it must be stated that Juicy Couture charms are a collection unto themselves, with fun and whimsical pieces that vary from diamond studded letters of the alphabet to create your personal name to little dangling Chinese take-out boxes, pink notebook or even pink frosted cupcakes and ice-cream cone charms.

Charming Italian Silver Bracelets

The biggest craze appears to be the Italian charm bracelet, which offers a means to collect trinkets a little different than the traditional ones because the charms usually don’t dangle down from the bracelet, rather they are set into flat icons or soldered onto the interlocking pieces that either snap onto a basic bracelet or are added onto a stretch silver bracelet band. These bracelets are quite expensive; even the ones that are designed for young jewelry buyers, like the juicy Couture Collection, seem rather pricey.

There are a few cheap jewelry options, mostly with tiny enamel charms and usually these bracelet styles will be copper or brass with thin silver plating and not pure 925 silver bracelets or corresponding charms.

The least expensive place for silver jewelry online, which I have found, to buy these Italian charm bracelets is Charms Land, and although they have a great selection, I believe their selection is mostly for children or young adults. For example they have a German Shepherd Dog Photo Charm for $13.55, a State (of the USA) for$4.96, a Star Girl Laser Charm for $6.55, a December Snow Gold Laser Charm for $7.99, and a Wreath and Candle Gold Laser Charm also for $7.99.

For elegant silver charms bracelets styles you’ll have to go to silver jewellery online shops like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Blue Nile, Tiffany, Saks Fifth Avenue, Links of London and even Amazon. Most of these high quality jewelry retailers offer a means for customers to make their own custom bracelets by selecting the base bracelet and then adding whatever charm (or charms) suits their fancy.

Vintage or Antique Charm Bracelets

Since the sterling silver charm bracelet has been around for centuries, and has been an on again off again trend through ancient and modern history, a good place to get something a little different is by searching for vintage costume jewelry shops that carry unusual pieces. Some vintage or antique charms may also fit onto modern silver charm bracelets, and if they are made of good quality silver, these antique jewellery silver charms and bracelets will go well together.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you need not buy the expensive basic or starter sterling silver charm bracelets that are sold for that specific purpose; you can also go with a basic silver chain bracelet and then simply add charms as you find the ones that go with your collection style.

Charm bracelets, as I said earlier are primarily sold in silver these days; however there are some gold charm bracelet designs to choose from if you can afford the price. Most are hundreds of dollars with each charm being $50 to $70 or more, making the total bracelet price quickly add up into the thousands. (There is also a sterling silver ring that has a series of charms you can attach to it, and this option is more affordable but since it isn’t for the wrist really isn’t too satisfactory.)

Silver Bracelets for Bridesmaid Jewelry

When planning a wedding, the wedding rings and bride & groom jewelry are things never forgotten, at least not until the groom arrives at the church and discovers he doesn’t have the ring, but usually they have been purchased in advance of the wedding day. The bride’s earrings, necklaces and little jewelry niceties are usually on the bridal list, and one way or another, a bride will probably have her jewelry selected long before the big day. But one aspect of wedding planning that sometimes gets overlooked is the selection of jewelry for the bridal party.

Yes, the gowns and tuxedos are all arranged in advance, but what will the bridesmaids and groomsmen wear as accessories? What earrings will the maid of honor have to match the dress? Will she have bracelets or bangles or just a pendant and chain around her neck? Will it be silver or gold, chunky, simple, modern or antique? When a bride envisions her wedding day, she often has all these details in her mind, how each bridesmaid will look, and how everything will unfold in fluid elegance, but sometimes the idea of what is elegant to the bride is not what her bridesmaids have in their jewelry boxes.

One lovely touch that many brides have employed successfully is to give a small thank you present to each of her bridesmaids BEFORE the wedding. If this gift is a piece of jewelry that will match the wedding attire, the bridesmaids will wear it and the accessory problem is solved. But what should that gift be? It can be a small chain and diamond or cz pendant, a pair of pearl earrings or diamond (or fake diamond) earrings or even a simple set of solid silver bracelets.

A womens silver bracelet is a tasteful present that can be used for the wedding and also for other events afterward, so a bridesmaid may find it a useful gift as well as a keepsake of the day. It can be a classic design with a bit of sparkle or something wild depending on the wedding theme and colors. Womens silver bracelets are affordable in cubic zirconia and sterling silver settings so there is no need for a large financial expenditure on the part of the bride. A silver bracelet for a bridesmaid can be as little as $20 and will be of relatively good quality.

Mens Silver Bracelets

A mens silver bracelet or a sterling silver cuff bracelet is a piece of jewelry that distinguishes many men, often as having traveled or as having a distinctive personal style. You needn’t be Sikh to wear a bracelet! Men’s bracelets, although less common than womens styles, are far more unique in theme and design, often borrowing motifs from ancient warrior styles, medieval knight themes or natural tribal styles.

Although men’s jewelry is often chunky and wider than the female versions, heavy silver bracelets are not the only choices for men, neither are silver link bracelets the only options. A heavy silver bracelet, or extra large silver bracelet, can give the necessary weight and texture for a masculine wrist while still incorporating sculpted patterns, twists and knots, hand carved or etched motifs or even be partly leather. These masculine mens bracelets, unlike silver cufflinks that are for formal attire, can be a casual piece of jewelry worn every day as a statement of discreet sophistication while not being feminine or even metro sexual in nature.

Mens bracelet options can be as simple as a single uniquely shaped solid silver bracelet with no other adornment whatsoever (like the piece my husband wears), or silver cuff bracelets with a gemstone or a chunk of turquoise or a piece of amber in the centre, or a chunky silver link bracelet for a man with a few charms or talismans collected along his travels.

Silver chain bracelets used to be the male bracelet classic but men’s silver bracelets have come a long from the days of imitation gangster or pimp jewelry that often included fashion styles with huge gold necklaces and unbuttoned shirts. And on the other extreme, mens contemporary fashion and accessories are not the 1980’s Miami Vice creamy suites and t-shirts under Armani jackets or Italian sport coats with white linen pants and sockless loafers, or pastel green and fuchsia shirts with flashes of diamond encrusted gold watches at the cuffs and dark Ray-Ban sunglasses at twilight.

Silver versus White Gold Bracelet

  • Hypoallergenic metals and sensitive skin concerns – A sterling silver bracelet is usually 95% or 98% pure silver while white gold is a mix of gold, silver, palladium, nickel or other alloys. To make a piece of white gold jewelry appear brighter, it is usually rhodium plated or enhanced to be more luminous and whiter. This can make a piece of jewelry attractive, however it is good to note that nickel is the metal that often causes metallic allergies, skin rashes and other discomforts for jewelry wearers.

So, if you have sensitive skin (or the person you are buying the jewelry for has previously reacted adversely to some metals) silver may be the better choice. However, titanium is also a white metal and is hypoallergenic, as is surgical steel or Stainless Steel Jewelry.

  • Tarnishing of Silver and white gold – A white gold bracelet does not look much different than a silver one; however the negative side to silver is that it tarnishes and must be polished or cleaned, while white gold will not tarnish.

What makes white gold appear to tarnish is the fact that rhodium plating on the surface may wear off and what remains is the pure, creamier colored, white gold, which is not as luminous without the extra outer enhancement.

  • White gold and silver jewellery price differences – If selecting sterling silver cuff bracelets, or other heavy bracelets or chunky jewelry that contains a lot of metal, you will find that the price of white gold is very high – simply because it contains some gold.

The sterling silver bracelet of equal size and weight will cost much less and therefore may be the better buy if it is for fashion or fun costume jewelry. All that said; white gold is generally regarded as a superior quality metal.

pandora Christams Charm Bracelet

Silver Ankle Bracelet – Anklets

The world of anklets, ankle bracelets and toe/foot/ankle jewelry has spread throughout the barefoot world from India, Egypt, Bedouin communities and the Middle East, where women wear bracelets on both ankles. In India, some are called paayal, pajeb or jhan-jhar and may be chain link bracelets or circular bands of metal which may or may not also have tinkling bells or jangling charms that chime as women walk.

Ankle bracelets are also part of the traditional jewellery worn for Indian marriages along with bracelets and red silk saris. In Middle Eastern culture, some of the ankle bracelets that are worn on both ankles are joined together by a short piece of chain, which forces the woman to take small, feminine strides thought to be a more modest way for women to walk. Although this practice has not caught on in the western world, for obvious reasons, it is still quite a common practice in the east.

Ankle bracelets have had mythical and practical significance throughout history, in some cases denoting slavery, women who are loose or available, or may even be prostitutes, but sometimes an ankle bracelet denotes exactly the opposite, marking a woman as being taken or married. In modern history, an anklet once denoted a woman who was a swinger, however this connotation and symbolism has fallen by the wayside, and anklets are primarily, in western cultures, a form of decoration, another place to wear jewelry, like piercings and body jewelry of all kinds.

It is feminine jewelry loved by ladies who appreciate going barefoot, ideal for sunbathing and beachwear. In the west, ankle bracelets in 925 silver jewelry settings are the most common due to the price, however in India and other places, gold is still the preferred metal. A simple anklet can be as little as $20 for a solid sterling silver chain or as much as several thousand dollars for ankle jewelry with diamonds or gemstones.

Ankle bracelets, even in cosmopolitan settings, carry with them a casual or rebellious attitude, and many professional women refrain from wearing them in office or corporate settings, not only because they are difficult to wear with certain types of footwear and impossible to wear with hosiery or nylons, but because they reflect a lax or casual approach to life. They are primarily the jewelry of beach goers and sun worshipers and those who have the luxury of walking the earth with bare feet.

Silver ID Bracelet

ID bracelets have many uses aside from being personalized jewelry that’s fun because it has your name on it. The main reason people have gold or silver ID bracelets made is for medical purposes, especially if it involves a child or someone who may not be able to give adequate information to doctors in an emergency.

A simple name bracelet, in such cases may not be enough, and therefore there are bracelets and necklaces that not only have a person’s name but will also have a symbol or some information pertaining to that person’s known medical condition, such as Alzheimer’s medical IDs, asthma ID, diabetes medical bracelets, epilepsy medical alert jewelry, or other Ids for heart conditions or allergies to medications. There are the standard links silver bracelet styles that have a chain bracelet and a silver plate for name and information, but there are also other designs that are less clinical.

Here are just a few:

  • Stainless Stretch Medical ID Bracelet

  • Brown Leather with Surgical Stainless Steel Medical ID Bracelet
  • Italian Leather 5 Strand Medical ID Bracelet in Pink
  • Leather and Hemp Diabetes ID Bracelet
  • Red Stone Bead Bracelet with Sterling Loop for Medical Id Charm
  • Pretty in Pink Silver Bead Bracelet
  • Turquoise and Sterling Bead Bracelet
  • Purple Passion Glass and Sterling Bead Bracelet
  • Sterling Ball Beaded Bracelet
  • St. Patty’s Green and Silver Bead Bracelet
  • Sapphire Blue and Silver Bead Bracelet
  • Chunky Silver Links of Hope Bracelet
  • Beach Escape Links of Hope Bead Bracelet
  • Moulin Rouge Links of Hope Beaded Bracelet

Most Medical alert or medical Id bracelets are inexpensive, between $12 to under $60, even for solid sterling silver bracelets, and even a gold plated Id can be less than $30 or $40.

Aside form medical purposes, a silver Id bracelet is great for children, especially if their name, address or telephone number is engraved on the bracelet incase they wander off or are lost in a crowd. There are similar bracelets that are made of fabric with Velcro closures and the child’s information written with an indelible marker on some area of the bracelet.

These are good and inexpensive, however, a silver bracelet will be stronger, less likely to be taken off, and the information engraved into silver will not be smudged or destroyed as easily. For a wonderful selection of unique ID bracelets, go to Sticky Jewelry, where you will also find a selection of medical alert charms, confirmation and holy communion, first communion and baptism charms that can be added to necklaces and other jewelry bracelets.

Silver Beaded Bracelet

Silver Bead Bracelets can be purchased ready made or they can be bought as bead bracelet silver pieces that you add to your own creations. Since some silver beads come with letters or numbers engraved into them, some fun ideas are to create little poem bracelets or name bracelets or even scripture bracelets for those who want to remember their favorite biblical or religious quote.

Silver beaded bracelets are also good to make mommy bracelets (that say MOM or MUM for mother’s Day) and beaded bracelets with birthstone colors. Some beaded bracelet names are Fruit of the spirit, Purity, Generations, Adoption, Initials, Message, Grandmother Bracelets, and even cancer awareness bracelets are often made from silver beads.

Make your Own Beaded Bracelets

Because bead bracelets are fun to make and personalize for those we care about like mother’s sisters and teachers, these handmade bracelets are often more than just the sum of the silver or crystals or decorations from which they have been made. Personalized bracelets from silver beads represent an effort of love, a gesture that even young children can make even if they have almost no money of their own to buy jewelry as gifts.

Uncommon Beads

Naturally the most common types of bead bracelets are the initial and birthstone designs which are created from sterling silver alphabet beads and letters, numbers and/or Greek letters and intermittent Swarovski crystal beads to add the personalized birthstone color accent. Silver beads come in many shapes, not just round or oval, but also bicones and cubes. To finish it all off, and have a great bead bracelet to give, all that’s needed are some sterling silver clasps that can be bought from most jewelry beading supplies companies online.

Silver Toggle Bracelet

A toggle bracelet is really NOT a style or a design of a bracelet but the way it closes, the clasp or TOGGLE. A toggle is a type of closure whereby a small peg is inserted into a circle. It’s a very simple yet secure closure used even for the most classic and expensive diamond bracelet creations in silver and gold. It’s also very elegant because even if the bracelet is turned with the closure to the top of the wrist, a toggle looks finished and clean, almost as if it were a charm. Links of London, Tiffany’s and other fine jewelry shops are famous for having toggle bracelets.

Vintage Silver Bracelets

Antique silver bracelets and handcrafted silver jewelry that is now considered vintage can be one of two things: really cheap and undervalued, or really, really expensive. Although most silver jewelry of quality, even modern works, is handmade in part or in full, there is an added spirit about antique or vintage pieces that have already lived a life or two on someone else’s wrist. Bracelets and wrist cuffs are a very old form of jewelry and so there is, and probably will always be, a huge selection of handcrafted bracelets from estate sales and auction houses as well as companies that specialize in making replicas of historic or unusual pieces of jewelry.

Odd Antiques

Although we often think of antiques as coming from imperial China, ancient Greece, the Roman Empire or the Victorian, Edwardian or medieval eras, the fact is that there is much jewelry, especially silver bracelet designs that have of even more unusual origins, such as Aztec, Mayan, Incan and Native peoples around the world. Some wonderful creations in bracelets are made by the Navajo Tribes in what is now the USA.

Other people who created jewelry in silver and precious stones are the Mexicans and even Tibetan monks who incorporated deep sea coral (found on Tibetan Plateaus) and turquoise into silver bracelet designs that are extraordinary. Some of these original antique designs are now in museums and not for sale at any price, but the native people of these regions often continue making replicas based on the traditional and historic antiquities.

Some great places to find unusual silver bracelets in ancient and vintage designs are Quirky – a Peruvian silver jewelry distributor, and Michelle’s Vintage Jewelry who has a little bit of everything – from a Navajo onyx cuff bracelet, a Mexican Aztec bracelet, a Taxco hinged cuff wrap bracelet, to a retro vintage Givenchy Baguette Bracelet.

Newer Vintage

Other vintage bracelets are of newer and less exotic beginnings. Vintage bracelets these days need not be hundreds of years old, it’s enough for them to have been made in the 60’s or ‘70’s or even as late as the 80’s for them to be considered vintage.

Silver Cancer Bracelets

Buying silver and pink awareness bracelets are a way for you to support the cancer research foundations and to keep this disease foremost in women’s minds, since it is a disease which need not be fatal if found in time. By using silver bracelets women love is a means not to minimize the seriousness of cancer, but to act as a reminder that awareness may equal a check-up and a check-up may equal a life.

Silver bracelets for women with the small pink ribbon have been around for some time, and now there are new creations in these beautiful, feminine ladies silver bracelets and silver charm styles that still have a ribbon, but aren’t always pink. There are also survivor and Co Survivor bracelets and Faith, hope and Love bracelets in many new styles.

Gemstone Bracelets

sterling bracelet with gemstones

A gemstone bracelet can be purely a matter of personal taste as to what gem will suit you or the occasion for which it will be worn. However silver gemstone bracelets, since they are affordable, are often created as gemstone jewelry specific to birthstones that match the astrological sign of each month. A birthstone bracelet may be fun for young women or children but they can also be meaningful pieces of jewelry that contain a set of family birthstones.

For example, a mother may have her birthstone and those of her children set into one bracelet, or a grandmother may select a series of stones to create a sort of jewel family tree that includes her children and grandchildren. These types of bracelets can take the form of a tennis bracelet, because there are many stone setting places available, or it can be a simple silver bracelet with some crystal charms attached in the appropriate colors.

Here are some of the most popular bracelet and gemstone mixes these days:

  • Amethyst silver bracelet – The amethyst bracelets that are being made are stunning, sometimes with a series of pave set amethysts and sometimes with just a central stone in birthstone bracelets or cuff bracelets.
  • Amber silver bracelet – this has gained popularity because amber is surprisingly inexpensive compared to other gemstones. Amber stones make for exquisite bracelets because the pieces of amber can be very large and show a full fossil inside, something difficult to obtain in small amber rings or earrings.
  • Garnet silver bracelet – Aside from being a birthstone, the garnet is a remarkable rich red that resembles a ruby and yet is much more affordable. There are also silver garnet tennis bracelets with a mix of garnets and cubic zirconia that replace the more traditional diamond and ruby creations that are often very pricy. Garnet bracelets are also popular with young girls because there is a variety of garnet that is light pink and very suited for little princess gals.
  • Pearl silver bracelet – This is an old classic, however an example of a new version would be the cancer awareness pearl bracelet designs that intermix silver, fresh water pearls and small ribbon charms. Pearl bracelets are also an inexpensive bracelet choice because the price of cultured pearls is usually less than most gemstones. Although pearls are not mineral gemstones, it is interesting to note that they categorized in the jewelry industry as organic gemstones.
  • Turquoise silver bracelets – Turquoise jewelry is nothing new, but the way in which it is set in art deco silver bracelets is magnificent. Since turquoise is also a precious stone that is not too expensive, people can indulge in having larger stones in their bracelets than they would if it were tanzanite or lapis lazuli or sapphire for instance. There are also many antique replicas that use turquoise in their silver creations, especially from Mexico, Tibet, Nepal and Thailand.
  • Jade silver bracelet – Being the traditional lucky stone of the Chinese, it is no wonder the world is seeing an increase in this marvelous green gemstone in bracelets and other jewelry. Although the best quality jade is very expensive, medium qualities in this gemstone are still exquisite to the untrained eye and permit many more to enjoy its magical properties. The only down side to jade is that it is heavy, and although you may be able to afford a solid jade bracelet, they are often cold and heavy to wear and therefore many ladies are choosing silver and smaller jade stone combinations. Hinged filigree bracelets with a single jade stone gem in each hinged or square section is a classic bracelet style that is elegant and affordable. Emerald jewelry creations, which are also on the rise in the green gemstone collections, may prove much more difficult to purchase due to the cost. Some transparent jade is polished in such a ay so as to resemble the luster of an emerald.
  • CZ bracelets – are the all time best sellers because the quality of cubic zirconia has become a rival to the diamond, of which the famous tennis bracelet is usually made. There are now tennis bracelets that sparkle as much as their diamond cousins and instead of costing $10,000, may be only a few hundred or less than a hundred for a high quality designer bracelet in silver or gold.

Designer Silver Jewellery

Designer silver bracelet creations are not just the designs that appear in Vogue or the high fashion magazines of the west. They are the exquisite and exotic designer silver bracelets made by talented artisan and craftspeople around the world such as the Balinese, Thai, Mexican and Peruvian jewelers who use silver to create masterful pieces that could not be attempted in gold.

Scarab bracelet tory burch designer

Hammered silver bracelet designs and leather silver bracelets for men and silver jewelry bracelets from antique traditional patterns are now, more than ever before, within the reach of buyers because the internet allows even the small jewelry artists to offer their works for view. Cuff bracelets with nasca line patterns etched into silver and Aztec pattern carved into metal are only some of the choices such designers offer.

Small, almost unknown contemporary designers from Los Angeles and New York also have a chance to show their work and sell online, and all you have to do is look. It’s fun to flip through the magazines and see the high-end fashion houses and their trendy creations, but it’s also a breath of fresh air to see a nobody live off their magnificent designs.

Here are three nobody jewelry designers that I think are really somebodies:

  • Laurie Stetzler
  • Lesley Furber – La Luna de Plata
  • Marie Cristine Jewelry

Childrens Silver Bracelets

A first child’s silver bracelet is something to select with care because they must be comfortable and not constrict their movements or be a danger to the child. Often baby silver bracelets will be made of small round silver beads or pearls or may have tiny block letters with their name. Although a baby bracelet with a charm is common as a talisman, it is good to be sure they will not be able to suck or pull off the charm and cause themselves harm.

Childrens silver jewellery bracelets are some of the most exciting to choose, as a gift or for your own child, because they may be heirlooms or prized items later in life. There are many shops that offer beautiful baby and children jewelry but Just for Angels has some outstanding and inexpensive designs, like a bracelet with white Swarovski faux pearls, clear Swarovski crystals and Bali spacers with a delicate silver cross charm. And totally different, but fun and colorful is the yellow, white, orange, rose, aqua and green cat’s eye beads, with a clay clown and a birthday cake charm. Most of the bracelets they offer are under $30, many are as little as $20.

Cuff Bracelet

A cuff bracelet is a wide fixed size metal or mesh bracelet that fits quite snuggly on your wrist like a cuff. It usually does not have charms and does not move about the wrist very much. It can be a bangle style or have an opening at the back through which you slide your wrist into while holding it on an angle. Most cuff bracelets and tend to be more dramatic in style than other bracelet designs. Because they are large and require a lot of metal, they are often in iron, stainless steel, brass, sterling silver and other less expensive metals.

nasca designs on silver cuff bracelet

This bracelet cuff silver styling takes many forms, from bejeweled center stones to etched or carved embellishments. Because the area of the top portion of the bracelet is large, it is often decorated handsomely and that is why these are often thought of as engravable silver bracelets, although almost any style can become engraved silver bracelets if there is a space for it. But these cuff styles are truly a wide silver bracelet that will leave little room for multiples or stacking. Cuff bracelets are usually all a lady or gent will need in the way of jewelry to accessorize an outfit completely. Silver cuff accents a simple white blouse or dress shirt or may be the only jewelry needed to wear with a little black dress for cocktails. When it comes to jewellery bracelets are often underestimated as an accessory, when in fact they can be the only jewelry required to bring a look together.

Men often wear a single cuff bracelet to make a personal statement, however the best pieces will be those collected through a journey or travel. Some of the most famous wide bracelets in this style are those handmade in India and Nepal. Some of these have large turquoise stones set into the upper portion of the wrist. There’s a wonderful shop online called Ten Thousand Villages that has artisanal work from members of a fair trade group called TARA Projects which stands for Trade Alternative Reform Action. They have artists work from a 125-mile radius of Delhi, and their creations are better than any cuff bracelets I’ve seen in Vogue or Cosmo or Elle. They have a beaded cuff bracelet with teal, green and silver stones on a spiral metalwork band. And another gorgeous piece is the buffalo horn cuff bracelet made by the Asha Handicrafts Association in India. Both of these sumptuous designs are only $18.

Celtic Silver Bracelets

Silver cross bracelets in Celtic designs are nothing new; in fact they may be one of the oldest bracelet motifs in Europe. The Celtic cross is unique in that it combines a cross with a ring, and this design is etched or engraved or even sculpted into or onto bracelets of many styles, for both men and women. Many Celtic jewelers mix their metals to create gold silver bracelets so that the cross or braid or Celtic Knot may be highlighted or offset by a two-tone effect. The best way to get these fantastic bracelets is to go to Ireland or Scotland or to log onto the internet and search for silver bracelets UK; since these handcrafted silver bracelets come from that general geographic region.

Silver Celtic jewelry is not just the old knots and twists we’ve all seen. Many contemporary designers are reinventing the traditional styles and adding to them to create designs I cannot even attempt to describe except by saying they are loopy and curvaceous and almost filigree they are so complex and delicate at all once. There are also versions of the traditional claddagh bracelet (actually originally a ring) that has now developed into intricate hearts and hands and crowns and knots with an eastern or Turkish-like intricacy.

Many jewelers are mixing gold jewelry with silver and titanium and white gold and platinum and creating interesting tones for a twist on the basic gold bracelet or white gold bracelet of before. Many white gold bracelets have a base of silver with only the sculpted part in white gold or yellow gold due to the fact that it’s a softer metal for sculpting, while the band will be silver for hardness.

A place called Celtic Jewelry is a real discovery. It is part of Reflective Images, a company comprised of a husband and wife team Helen Chantler and Marc Choyt, who design and retail bracelet jewelry, handmade silver jewelry and gold over silver designs that are not only unique, but founded on the basis of being fair, responsible and ecological. Their bracelets & jewelry need to be seen to be appreciated. Their pieces are not cheap but all the metals and stones are genuine, and the prices start at just under $200.

Cheap Silver Bracelet

If you need to quickly fill your inventory with some wholesale bracelets then you will need to go to a wholesale silver warehouse or buy online from the many wholesale silver jewellery outlets that offer incredible discounts on orders by the dozen. Purchasing wholesale silver jewelry can be a little tricky because you may not be able to tell the quality by looking at pictures and reading descriptions. One way to avoid being stuck with a lot inventory you don’t need is to first order some wholesale silver rings and bracelets samples. Yes, you will have to pay for these samples. They are seldom free, but in a day or two you will have the items and you can decide if the quality is right for your clients or not.

super cheap genuine Indian silver and amethyst bangle

Many distributors who have high quality and cheap silver jewelery are from Asia, primarily India and China, so you may have to check that the silver jewelry has the right stamp and can be exported and imported with little hassle.

Usually, the merchants who sell silver jewelry at wholesale prices online have a system for sending and tracking orders, so you don’t have to worry, but make sure that you don’t have to pay taxes or duty when the package arrives. If you do, then you should know this is in advance and calculate the duty or taxes into the costs of the silver earring and necklace sets or bangles and bracelets or other items.

Silver jewelry may be inexpensive in India, but you must be sure it will still be cheap once it arrives at your door on the other side of the world, after duty, shipping and repackaging.

Silver necklaces, silver earrings, silver pendants and sterling silver chains, as well as colorful bangles and delicate silver anklets are all available through Krivi International or SD Fashions or through Alibaba global trade or Vk’s Beaded and Tribal Jewelry who have a super big selection of wholesale costume items, fashion jewelry, Indian and African jewelry, tribal jewelry, pearl and beaded bangles and bracelets, belly dance accessories, bone and natural hand carved items and even women’s apparel, costumes, handbags, shawls, stoles and silk scarves.

Buying Wedding Jewelry Wholesale

You may also find that buying a few pieces of silver jewelry at wholesale prices solves buying expensive retail priced wedding jewelry for a large bridal party. If you pay half price or less for a silver bracelet and need 3 or 4, perhaps you can mix and match an order at wholesale prices even if it’s for personal use. Just check to see if the wholesale company you buy from requires you to have a business permit before you can order or not.

For example at AENOL, a wholesale bridal Jewelry company, the minimum order is $75, and for that price you could probably accessorize the entire bridal party and the bride and groom and probably have a few gifts for mum, dad and new in-laws. Here’s why: a complete bridal set that includes pearls or silver CZ earrings and necklaces or a bracelet set or other items can cost as little as $7.

You could order a dozen different sets and be within the $75 minimum and have everything you need. And by the way, the jewelry they sell is beautiful, elegant and tasteful. It would retail for more than double. On most orders within the US and Canada they also offer free shipping. You just can’t lose. But there are other companies that offer similar wholesale jewelry options on silver bracelets and earrings and lots of jewelry creations.

Another example is Light in the Box, which is a Chinese wholesaler that offers everything from silver bridal tiaras to simple silver chain bracelets. Their minimum order is $65, and on top of that they will give an additional 10% discount. They have complete bridal sets for under $30 and pearl bracelets with silver clasps and silver CZ bracelets in pave settings for as little as $10.

If you don’t mind waiting for the shipment you could save yourself hundreds of dollars on wedding jewelry that could be better spend on your honeymoon.
Silver Bracelets, silver earrings or rhinestones and CZ jewelry can be very affordable no matter if you search for accessories for your own bridal party or for your clients who will appreciate your carefully selected silver jewelry items.

Discover The Charm Bracelet

What do lipstick, hot cocoa, cupcakes, Chinese take out, a mousetrap, a soft pretzel, a hot air balloon, a panda, a carousel horse, an ice-cream, a London phone booth and a little red lighthouse have in common? Charms, Amulets and Talismans

The word CHARM in English tends to bring to mind fairytale thoughts of prince charming and princesses and castles and dainty glass slippers and not a serious tradition of wearing wild boars teeth or lion claws as talisman or glass eyes to deter the great evil eye, or moons, and stars and suns to appease the elements of nature, or effigies of gods to deter unseen spirits, or white or black witchcraft to manipulate even the darkest secrets of our souls…

lion claw amulet charm

…Since the dawn of man, humans have had to fight against the elements, against wild beasts, cohabit with mysteries of nature and explain the explainable.

And from this struggle have emerged amulets and talismans whose primary objective has always been to protect the wearer from harm or to bring good fortune, be they ancient Egyptian cross of eternal life, crocodiles and hippos from the Nile River, pyramids with eyes and the power to protect, trinkets to allow the gods to recognize the bearer in the afterlife, protection for Medieval knights during battles, crosses and skulls donned by pirates who haunted the high seas, tribal phallic symbols of fertility or…

Charming Pieces of Jewelry

A charm is a form of talisman, which means a consecrated or sacred object and also an amulet, which is an object that offers protection from harm. In most parts of the world it is generally agreed that it is not just the effigy or the charm and what it symbolizes that offers protection or wards off evil, but the time, the exact auspicious moment the talisman/amulet/charm was created, so as to imbue it with power, or endow it with some enchantment by a white or black witch, sorcerer or sorceress.

If it was not created by someone with power at the precise moment to capture energy or magical power or to become aligned with astrologically dominant forces, then it will likely have no supernatural effects, which is why most manufactured or mass-produced charm bracelets are nothing more than charming pieces of jewelry.

Charm Bracelet Trends over Time

Charm bracelets that appear less mystical and seem to be a faddish trend of the young modern generation are not entirely new fads, since waves of such trends have come and gone throughout society for centuries. In fact, there was a European trend that swept through the noble classes during the reign of Queen Victoria, and another that swept the world during the second world war, and again another in the Americas in the ‘50’s, which had less to do with magic and more to do with trinkets to record the events that marked milestones in people’s lives. Again, this trend has reemerged, in part, due to the resurrection of all things that are considered vintage.

Juicy Couture Charm Bracelet

Charms that forever remain popular are Venetian munroe glass charms and the new interlocking Italian bracelets that snap together instead of having dangling charms from chains. However, the tendency toward collecting small souvenirs and tokens of travels or life events and attaching them to a basic chain bracelet still remains popular as evidenced by the massively fashionable Pandora charm bracelet and the Juicy Couture bracelets that are taking the jewelry industry by storm once again, reviving what began in the 70’s with Trollbeads, lovelinks, and the ‘add a bead’ craze of the 80’s.

Making Your Own Charm Bracelet

Many online jewelry companies offer “your own charm bracelet” creation areas, where you can select a basic bracelet and then virtually add charms (using your mouse) that automatically are shown on the bracelet, along with a tally of the price as you add items. Most are not at all cheap. The Pandora bracelet I created for myself, with just four gold letters for my name and the chain ended up being priced over $1,000. Another bracelet I created with travel trinkets was priced over $500.

Simple Tiffany bracelets and charms are gorgeous but also come with a high price tag. Neiman Marcus, Links of London and many other jewelers offer similar gold or sterling silver bracelet options, with crystal Swarovski charms or even gem studded trinkets with rubies and emeralds. Others have tiny cubic zirconia engagement rings as charms, or high-heeled shoes, or even little notebooks or mobile telephones.

Silver Bracelets

Silver bracelets in costume jewelry settings still tend to be the least expensive choice, but many silver charms come encrusted with very detailed enamel or jeweled designs that make the trinkets charming but not too cheap. Silver jewellery in general is easiest to match, and since charm bracelets are all about adding pieces, this may still be the best and most affordable way to go. I have found silver charms in almost everything from cowboy hats and boots to vintage jewelry amulets and talismans from the turn of the century.

Although gold cz tennis bracelets with rubies or emeralds intermixed and silver bangle bracelets are still the best sellers for women, teen and tween young ladies are mostly going after wristlet handbags and wholesale costume jewelry charm bracelets and cubic zirconia bracelets that can be embellished with charms like the ones form Juicy Couture.

One big seller is the Deco Charm Bracelet which includes blocks of letters, and the juicy signature puffed heart. This version of charm bracelet is amongst the least expensive from this line, perhaps the best value since it offers a gold or silver plated chain with a toggle closure and the letters J-U-I-C-Y made from cubic zirconia, glass and colored resin. The whole set costs $98.00.

Discount Jewelry for Charms

There are a few discount jewelry and wholesale jewellery outlets that carry less expensive options for charms and bracelets for young girls that start at about $10 or $12. They offer a large selection, but the problem is that most are very cheaply made and fall apart or lose their shine or the gold or silver plating wears off quickly. And the idea behind a charm bracelet is to have something to add to that will last years. Wholesale fashion jewelry outlets that sell super cheap charms are often not such a bargain if the basic bracelet isn’t of good quality.

It may be better to search through some antique jewellery centers or second hand jewellery shops to find a good white gold bracelet as a starter and then build from there. Especially if the bracelet is to be a gift, it should start it’s charm life as best as it can. Then a young girl can build upon it for years and have something to remember and not just a bunch of junk that ends up in the trash.

Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelets

A good option for a meaningful charm bracelet that may have magical properties for women who suffer from cancer is the Breast cancer Awareness Bracelet. Many jewelers who make delicate cancer bracelets or awareness bracelets promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds for research by contributing a portion of what you pay for the jewelry to the cancer foundations.

There are many retailers and jewelers who make these awareness bracelets such as a company called Rembrandt that supports Breast Cancer Awareness and Research with proceeds from the sale of its Pink Ribbon charm. They will launch new “Pink Ribbon” charms and bracelets for the campaign during the month of October, which is breast cancer awareness month. The campaign is said to be able to promote the bracelets through more than 7,500 retail jewelers, who offer thousands of handcrafted charms in both sterling silver and karat gold options.

To find other jewelers who also participate in promoting cancer awareness bracelets you can go to the breast cancer facts websites at

Rubber Bracelet Charms

For very little children there are also rubber bracelet charms. One is called the Zig-A-Roo’s adjustable charm, which is a small custom bracelet onto which children can mix and match 52 different charms. There is also a teen rubber bracelet, known as silicone rubber bracelets and wristbands, which do not usually have charms, but can be customized to have names or logos or designs. These are usually sold in packs of multicolored or wild neon bracelet assortments.

Birthstone Charms

Another use of charm bracelets that dates back to charms being astrologically powerful amulets and talismans are the birthstone charms that come in all the stones pertinent to the zodiac signs, including gorgeous lavender and purple amethyst jewelry charms and semi precious garnet jewelry. Here is a list of birthstones (I have included the Tibetan mystical stone for each month as well):

  • January – Garnet Jewelry – Rose Quartz– for mystical use – Emerald
  • February – Amethyst Jewelry, Onyx, Moonstone – for mystical use – Bloodstone
  • March – Aquamarine Jewelry, Bloodstone, Rock Crystal – for mystical use – Jade

Christmas Charms and Fish

A charm bracelet is a another ladies accessories option that should be kept in mind for the upcoming holidays since charms make good Christmas presents for the ladies and young girls who collect them. Some charms that are fun for very young children are Christmas reindeer, small Santa jewelry, little snowmen and other cute Christmas character charms.

Christmas charms can also take on a more symbolic meaning when giving fish jewelry, which is thought to be the original symbol used by early Christians to represent that they followed Jesus. Fish Jewelry has again gained popularity for modern Christians who wish to keep religious topics foremost on their minds (or jingling from their wrists) during the Christmas holiday season. An unusual Christian Christmas bracelet could include crosses, religious icons, fish, small loaves of bread and other ancient Christian saints.

Italian Charm Bracelets

Charms for bracelets, as I have said, needn’t be dangling charms. There is a very unique silver charm bracelet and gold charm bracelet made in the Italian style that has resurged in popularity since about 2001. These Italian charm bracelets can be added to by snapping charms onto the body of the bracelet rather than being dangled from a chain because individual pieces, or charm icons, have been soldered flat onto the surface of each link or portion of jewelry.

There are many design houses that now carry these styles of charms, which include Louis Vuitton and his teen line of Juicy Couture. In some cases the added charms are snapped onto a flat bracelet and/or popped onto a stretchy bracelet. The base bracelets that are stretchy are made from stainless steel and usually have 18K gold charms soldered on top. They can hold between 17 to 19 charms. These Italian bracelets are almost all quite expensive, and each genuine charm can be hundreds of dollars. Italian charm bracelet collection is not for the poor or very young who support their jewelry habits on small allowances. This is serious jewelry.

Disney Charm Bracelet and Michael Jackson Charm Watch

The Classic Disney charm bracelet with 37 Disney character charms, from Mickey to Pooh, costs about $200. And they are not real gold charm bracelets, but just plated, so take that into account.

And speaking of hot items that can be added as charms to Italian bracelets or worn as a charm on its own, there is a Michael Jackson Heart Italian Charm Watch that fits on Italian charm bracelets or can be worn alone. The charm bracelet watch is a collectable Michael Jackson Italian Charm Wrist Watch that costs about $16.

Searching for Charms Online

Because there are so many styles and kinds of charms and bracelets you should be as specific as possible when searching for what you need online.
Sterling silver charm bracelets and a white gold charm bracelet may bring up the widest choices from Italian to a childrens charm bracelet watch, so if you want something more specific try looking for a twilight charm bracelet, which is the theme of a popular book and show, or for more mature looks, try searching for a vintage charm bracelet or go directly to Italian charms. A heart charm bracelet search will net you everything from $1,000 diamond hearts to teeny little red hearts made of enamel for a dollar or two.

Charm Price

Gold charms still remain the most expensive ones you can buy even though they’re small. Often the work involved in making gold Italian charms is extensive because many of the gold bracelet charms are highly detailed creations of minute animals or people or even cars or replicas of famous monuments. Chamilia charm bracelets, a relative newcomer to the market, are also more expensive than average and start at around $30 per charm.

The least expensive charms are for children and can be made of rubber or plastic or very cheep brass or tin. These can cost as little as a couple dollars, and are not intended to be keepsakes so it is best not to invest in a costly starter bracelet for these charms. Any $5 or $10 link bracelet will suffice to start a childs charm bracelet just to teach them how to collect pieces. Later the cheap bracelets can be replaced with something that will be more lasting and where they can collect more meaningful personalized charms.

Talisman and Amulets for Energy

For some of the most unusual charms, try searching for Tibetan or ancient Chinese or Buddhist symbols that have been created in monasteries or by shamans who have imbued them with energy.

They may not be magical in the storybook sense, but stones and metals are known to hold energy from people and the earth and they can retain these properties, not as talismans or amulets like for a sorcerer, but as small sources of natural power that lingers within earth’s elements and can be felt by humans.
